Queen Jane Seymour (c.1509-1537) [Tudors: Six Wives of Henry VIII]

Jane Seymour was Henry VIII’s third wife and the only one who produced a son for him. However, childbirth caused a uterine infection, and she died shortly afterwards. It is said that Henry mourned deeply, but that the joy of a son soon outweighed his grief. Portrait by Hans Holbein.
