All the most interesting things about the Resident Evil 3 remake before release

There are only a few weeks left before the release of almost the most long-awaited remake of this year (and days before the demo), and it was in honor of the upcoming adventures of Jill Valentine that I decided to collect all the most interesting facts about the game and tell about them in one article.

About the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

To me, the most important thing to know about any remake is what the original was like. Resident Evil 3 1999 was originally supposed to be a regular spin-off to the second part – in fact, what it seemed to players at first glance. The problem is that Jill Valentine’s adventures seemed to be just an additional scenario in the story of the fall of Raccoon City: the plot developed before and after the events that happened to Leon and Claire; the new mechanics were not immediately noticeable, and many assets from the second part were actively used in the third.

However, the original Resident Evil 3 still had quite a few innovations and advantages compared to its predecessor. Thus, the game introduced a choice of story development, which, in fact, had practically no effect on it, as well as important game mechanics, including
— the ability to dodge enemy attacks;
— move along the stairs (in the original second part, movement along them was carried out as a transition from location to location);
— explode barrels and collect modules and ammunition for rare weapons.

Features of the remake: common and different with the original and the remake of the second part

The funny thing is that the remake https://nogamstop-casinos.co.uk/ of Resident Evil 3 completely repeats the fate of the original. At first glance, the future project is no different from last year’s remake of RE2, but in fact it has a lot of interesting changes, both against the background of the second part and against the background of the original project. The remake of Resident Evil 3 looks more serious compared to the original – this is especially noticeable in the game’s main character, Jill Valentine, whose design has been radically changed.

Also, from the journalists’ preview, you can understand that Raccoon City has become much larger – the developers have expanded locations and also added new ones. In addition, they confirmed that the game will not have mini-elections, like in the original – thus, we will get a completely linear story with an unambiguous ending. The developers did roughly the same thing by combining the scenarios of Leon and Claire in Resident Evil 2, although there, of course, there was a problem with the parallels of the two scenarios.

The creators of the remake also stated that the game, at least at release, will not have The Mercenaries mode – in the remake of Resident Evil 2 after release, The Ghost Survivals mode appeared, which is very similar in principle to Mercenaries. Instead, the third part will feature asynchronous multiplayer Project Resistance.

At the same time, all other features of Resident Evil 3 will be transferred to the remake. The developers have spent the last month paying a lot of attention to ensuring that Jill hasn’t lost all her combat skills, so expect:
— return of the slope with slow-mo mechanics with perfect execution;
— explosive barrels that can clear your path from a large number of zombies;
— more emphasis on action, while maintaining survival elements.

All these game features are also the main distinguishing features of the third part compared to the remake of Resident Evil 2. The second part placed more emphasis on the survival component of the project: you had to make your way through the cell corridors of the police station and by any means avoid large wastes of extracted resources. Resident Evil 3, on the contrary, reminds you that conserving your ammo is important, but at the same time allows you to “run wild” – both literally and figuratively thanks to the increased variability of problem solving and the expansion of locations.

At the same time, you should not perceive Raccoon City in Resident Evil 3 as an open world – players associate the remake with a metroidvania, which gives you limited freedom with many shortcuts, optional locations and moderate backtracking.

It is also worth talking about the duration of the Resident Evil 3 remake. So, according to the developers, the remake of the third part will be slightly shorter than the second. However, it is worth considering that the remake of Resident Evil 2 had two almost identical scenarios, so it seems to me that the original content of the third part will be no less than that in last year’s game.

About Nemesis

This could be the conclusion, if not for one very important, big and painful BUT. Resident Evil 2 wouldn’t be nearly as great if it didn’t include the Tyrant, an invincible stalker who appears just when you’ve become accustomed to the typical police station dwellers. Naturally, Resident Evil 3, being an improved version of the second part, could not help but improve the main feature of Resident Evil 2. This also applies to remakes – the developers have been actively talking about all the innovations of Nemesis compared to Tyrant during this month.

Even Lorno Nemesis is an improved version of Mr. X. The main enemy of Resident Evil 3 went through an unnatural selection among those infected with the T-virus and received an improved artificial intelligence model, thanks to which he will be able to attack Jill much more actively and effectively, but at the same time he will not pester you permanently – this was done so that the appearance of Nemesis was unexpected and not boring. Also, the model of the pursuer was made thanks to photogrammetry – a technology with which the monster looks as realistic as possible, while retaining all its fantastic features.

The developers have also improved the player’s interaction with the main threat. So, you will now clearly hear where Nemesis is coming from so that you can dodge its attack when the monster is not in your field of vision. Also, although Nemesis is, in fact, immortal, you, as in the case of the Tyrant, can temporarily stun him, and, as in the original Resident Evil 3, knock out various items from him to improve weapons. But you shouldn’t neglect your safety, because Nemesis will be able to enter locations with save points if it is not a full-fledged save room – a similar place was in the main lobby of the police station in Resident Evil 2.

This is how you should expect the remake of Resident Evil 3, which will be released on April 3 on all current platforms except Switch. This article is an adaptation of the script for a video, so I gladly accept criticism and suggestions for improving the text format. I hope my little work was useful for you 🙂
